450. 4Qs with Lily – 7 years later

I knew it would happen someday. Lily, my kid, recorded a 4Qs podcast for Episode 13 on September 22, 2017. For some reason, she said to me today that it was time for her do the podcast again. How could I say no? I confess that it is pretty cool to have a record of her on this podcast at age 9 and now age 16. Who knows when the next one will be… but as you will know after listening to this she still has pretty damn good taste in movies. 449. Fr3deR1cK & Jeff Shoot the S**t, Part 6

This was Fr3deR1cK’s sixth time as a guest on this podcast. He came into L.A. from ATL for a screening of “The Third Country” at Dances With Films. By the way, everyone should check out the series Fr3deR1cK’ produced that is on TVHi, “Hot Girls Getting High.” Catch this smart and hilarious series at https://www.watchtvhi.com/hggh

One last note… if you look at the DIF Website you will see that Fred has achieved a new honor… for the first time ever the selfie on the DIF website has been taken by the guest, not the host. Talk about significant! Learn more about Fr3deR1cK Taylor at these links: Fr3deR1cK.com tomorrowpictures.com and @fr3der1ck on Instagram

448. 4Qs with Jaime Saginor

What are the 4Qs? (1) Three favorite films. (2) An underrated film. (3) An overrated film. (4) A lesser-known film people should seek out.

I just had Jaime Saginor in the studio with and we just wrapped up an amazing interview. Jaime’s film “Black Creek Trail” won the programmer prize at the 2022 Sherman Oaks Film Festival and rightfully so. After the interview was over you know I couldn’t let her leave without answering the 4Qs!

Prize Definitions/Explanations

Best In Fest – Determined by the festival’s official selection committee, this category was added because overall awards can help make us eligible to be an Oscar Qualifying festival.  (We learned that our idealistic belief that awards should be divided by genre was getting in the way of that and we’d really like to become an Oscar Qualifying festival.  If you know someone… hook us up!)
Grand Jury Awards – Determined by the festival’s official selection committee.
Filmmakers Awards – Determined by a panel of filmmakers whose films have been Official Selections previous years and given only to short films.
Audience Awards – Determined by highly scientific instruments to measure audience satisfaction.
Programmer’s Prize – Determined by festival programmer Jeff Howard as a reward for his hard work.  Importantly, having his own awards means he never has to put his finger on the scale for the other awards.
