This interview kind of has to have two disclaimers. The first is that we recorded this in February, 2020, a few weeks before a global pandemic hit. There are not any timely references, but David mention future filmmaking plans that obviously got interrupted by COVID-19. The second is that we spoke over Skype or FaceTime, I can’t remember which, and we had a little delay that often made it harder for us to not speak over each other. My hope is that someday the world returns to normal and perhaps David will find himself in Los Angeles and we can talk about his next film in person!
Here are David’s DIF4Q answers:
- Favorites: Fight Club, Heaven (2002), Mar Adentro (Eng. The Sea Inside)
- Underrated: The Fisher King
- Overrated: Inception
- Seek Out: Bin-jip (Eng. 3-Iron)
