305. 4Qs with Ari Schneider (& Ryan Barton-Grimley)

What are the 4Q’s?  (1) Favorite films, top 3. (2) An underrated film. (3) An overrated film. (4) A lesser-known film people should seek out.

Ari Schneider and Ryan Barton-Grimley have co-starred in two feature films, “Elija’s Ashes” in 2017 and “Hawk and Rev: Vampire Slayers” in 2020.  Ari and Ryan are the real deal, an on-screen comedy duo.  During the Golden Age, movie studios knew the value of keeping comedy together for multiple films.  Ryan and Ari are keeping the tradition alive.

Ryan answered the 4Qs way back in DIF Podcast Episode 36! Over four years ago, when Ryan was promoting his leading role in the feature film, “Repatriation.” Still, there was no need for Ryan to answer them again when we could focus on Ari’s answers.

For the record, this was a “remote” podcast.  I showed up at Ryan’s home office and we recorded three people with one microphone in a big room with an open door.  Don’t expect it to sound like we were in recording booths!

Finally, I should mention that “Hawk and Rev: Vampire Slayers” came to Film Invasion Los Angeles in 2021 and slayed, taking home three Grand Jury Prizes; Best Feature Film – Comedy,
Best Actor in a Supporting Role – Ari Schneider, and Best Performance by a Cast – Comedy.

So be smart and go to Justwatch.com and watch this hilarious film with horror touches and an 80’s vibe.
