412. 4Qs with Rich & Matt Van Tine

What are the 4Qs?  (1) Three favorite films. (2) An underrated film. (3) An overrated film. (4) A lesser-known film people should seek out.

Rich & Matt Van Tine have brought two films to the Sherman Oaks Film Festival over the years; “A Side of Fries” in 2018 and “Magic Box” in 2022.  Both films are superb and I’d looked forward to getting these two on the DIF podcast for years.  And you know that once they were on the mics I would have them answer the DIF 4Qs above.

411. Matt & Rich Van Tine “Magic Box”

Matt & Rich Van Tine brought their horror short “Magic Box” to the Sherman Oaks Film Festival in 2022, when it took home the Audience Award for Best Short Film – Horror.  (By the way, if you ask me, it’s a Thriller, not horror, but I’m just being anal.)

The first time that I met the Van Tines was in 208 when their short film “A Side of Fries” was an official selection at the Sherman Oaks Film Festival.  I have a soft spot for the quirky, unique “A Side of Fries,” but even I have to admit that their filmmaking skills grew by bounds and leaps with”Magic Box.”

After knowing these two casually for nearly five year this podcast interview finally allowed me to truly get to know them and their path to filmmaking.  It’s a great story and I hope that you enjoy hearing it as much as I did.

410. 4Qs with Alex & Todd Greenlee

What are the 4Qs?  (1) Three favorite films. (2) An underrated film. (3) An overrated film. (4) A lesser-known film people should seek out.

Screenwriter Alex Greenlee and director Todd Greenlee brought their feature film “All Eyes” to the Sherman Oaks Film Festival in 2022 and took home the Grand Jury Award Best Feature Film – Horror.  You can tell in this interview that I loved this film’s mix of indie spirit, action and horror.  The good news is that you can watch it right now!  Just go to homefrontpictures.com and choose the platform of your liking.
