Episode 52: DF4Q with Mikhael Bassilli

What is DF4Q?  It’s the Discover Film Four Questions.

    • Name your favorite film of all time (limit 3)
    • Name a film you think is underrated
    • Name a film you think is overrated
    • Name a lesser-known film that you think people should seek out

The first time I met Mikhael Bassilli it was because he had won the screenwriting competition 100 Screenplays in 2017.  (You can see me about to hand him the award in that pic.)  A few months later, he submitted the great short film Immersion to the Sherman Oaks Film Festival and we selected it to be the opening film that year.

You know I love to hear people’s DF4Q’s and considering Mikhael’s incredible work output, I was very curious to hear his favorites.  Give it a listen!

Episode 51: Mikhael Bassilli

If I was to use one word for filmmaker Mikhael Bassilli it would be industrious.  Just wait until you hear his story.

Mikhael just cannot stop creating, whether it is a business, a screenplay, a film, or a structure to make all of that happen.  But I don’t want to give too much away before you hear this interview.  Needless to say, Mikhael completely surprised and impressed me during this talk.

For the record, Mikhael’s short film Immersion, the opening film at the Sherman Oaks Film Festival in 2017, is not available online yet.  I’m looking forward to when he releases it online, but he still has a few film festivals coming up.  We managed to avoid sharing any spoilers in this interview.

Episode 50: DF4Q with Miri Stone

What is DF4Q?  It’s the Discover Film Four Questions.

    • Name your favorite film of all time (limit 3)
    • Name a film you think is underrated
    • Name a film you think is overrated
    • Name a lesser-known film that you think people should seek out

Miri Stone wrote and directed The Hunter which opened the festival at Film Invasion Los Angeles in 2016.  The Hunter is a beautifully made film that takes the fantasy genre and offers up some surprises.  I had a hunch she would have some pretty interesting favorites, and she did not disappoint.
