Disfluency<\/em>.\u00a0 There is so much to say about this short film.\u00a0 From writer\/producer Anna Baumgarten and director Laura Holliday,\u00a0Disfluency <\/em>tackles sexual assault and the aftermath with the perfect mix of realism, understanding, and maturity.\u00a0 But the filmmaking here is so good that I jumped on a soapbox at\u00a0Film Invasion Los Angeles\u00a0<\/em>and insisted that the Q&A focus on how well written and directed this film is.<\/p>\n

By the way, at\u00a0FILA\u00a02018 it won the Filmmakers Award for Outstanding Short Film as well as Best Director for Laura Holliday.\u00a0 And as you can see by all the laurels on the video below,\u00a0Disfluency\u00a0<\/em>received accolades throughout its festival run.\u00a0 We had a great Q&A with Anna and Laura at FILA;\u00a0<\/em>I think I may have mentioned the podcast to them back then.\u00a0 Maybe I didn’t, but it’s a good story.<\/p>\n

This is a loooong interview.\u00a0 After all, we had two filmmaker’s histories to cover.\u00a0 But don’t worry, it’s also a fun interview.\u00a0 Laura and Anna started in sketch comedy and their ability to play off of each other shows throughout the interview.<\/p>\n
