Jacqueline Linares wrote, directed and produced the short film \u201cWhat Friends Do\u201d that played at the Sherman Oaks Film Festival in December 2024. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0As you\u2019ll hear early in this interview, I find her film wonderful, genuine and heartwarming to the point that when I met her at the festival\u2019s Opening Night Gala and saw \u201cWhat Friends Do\u201d on Jacky\u2019s badge I
\nimmediately said, \u201cIs it OK if I hug you?\u201d (I learned when she booked the podcast recording that she goes by, \u201cJacky.\u201d)<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat Friends Do\u201d took home the Programmer\u2019s Prize for Exceptional Filmmaking and I was delighted when I saw Jacky\u2019s name pop into my calendar for this podcast. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 I did not get to moderate Jacky\u2019s Q&A at the festival, making this podcast particularly important to me.<\/p>\n

This conversation was incredibly fun to record and I have no doubt that all who listen will enjoy. Jacky has a very bright future ahead and I look forward to seeing more films!<\/p>\n
