233. Kathryne Isabelle Easton “Borrelia Borealis”

Kathryne Isabelle Easton on the SOFF 2021 red carpet

Kathryne Isabelle Easton wrote, directed and performed the lead role in “Borrelia Borealis,” taking home two Grand Jury Awards at the 2021 Sherman Oaks Film Festival.  This remarkable feature film was made in her during the depths of the Covid lockdown.  Unlike most films made under those conditions, “Borrelia Borealis” stays fresh, engaging and entertaining throughout.  And I wrote, “performed the lead role,” above very intentionally, because Kathryne is onscreen for nearly every second of this feature film and her performance brings the entire thing together.

You should ABSOLUTELY WATCH THIS FILM.  Be a righteous supporter of indie film and pay for it on VOD, where it is currently available everywhere.  If you want to learn more about how to see the film, check out Kathryne’s Instagram @kathryneisabelle.

232. 4Qs with Daniel Talbott

Daniel answers the 4Qs on Zoom

What are the 4Q’s?

  • Name your favorite films of all time (limit 3)
  • Name a film you think is underrated
  • Name a film you think is overrated
  • Name a lesser-known film that you think people should seek out

Collaborating with his wife, brother and sister during lockdown, Daniel Talbott made the wonderful film “Telling Time”and it became an official selection at both Film Invasion Los Angeles and Sherman Oaks Film Festival in 2021, taking home the Audience Award at FILA.  Daniel and I had a great talk about the film during his DIF interview, but we managed to carve out enough time to have him answer the 4Qs above.

I’m also happy to say that “Telling Time” will join season 5 of the Discover Indie Film TV series.  Season 5 should be released this March, but if you want to watch other superb indie shorts just go to the Discover Indie Film TV Series on Amazon Prime Video.

231. Daniel Talbott “Telling Time”

Daniel & Jeff doing their third Zoom chat… but we did meet in person at SOFF 2021!

Filmmaker Daniel Talbott brought his film “Telling Time” to both Film Invasion Los Angeles and Sherman Oaks Film Festival in 2021, taking home the Audience Award at FILA.  It was a great joy to me that Daniel brought the film to SOFF in 2021, because after having Daniel involved in two virtual festivals last November we finally got back into the theater.  “Telling Time” is such a beautiful film; finally I got to see it in a theater instead of on a TV.

It is also a joy to share that “Telling Time” will join season 5 of the Discover Indie Film TV series.  Season 5 should be released this March, but if you want to watch other superb indie shorts just go to the Discover Indie Film TV Series on Amazon Prime Video.
